Sustainability & Social Responsibility Policy

The Palácio São Silvestre - Boutique Hotel has a great concern for the current and future generations, therefore we have integrated a sustainable hotel project in the Unit. This sustainability project has total respect and concern for society and the environment; aiming for continuous improvement through practices and ethical principles, such as:

  • • Adoption of a three-hourly tariff;
  • • Application of flow reducers on taps;
  • • Professional development and personal fulfilment of all company employees (training);
  • • High thermal insulation of the building;
  • • Choice of environmentally friendly and biodegradable products;
  • • Appropriate structure for disabled guests (access inside and outside the premises and in the parking spaces);
  • • Waste management with licensed companies that collect and recycle materials such as glass, plastic, cardboard, oils, etc.
  • • Waste management, such as glass, toners, paper, corks, cooking oil and organic waste;
  • • Implementation of a maintenance plan with routines, to check the efficiency of all equipment;
  • • Encouraging occupational health and safety, in all activities;
  • • Encouraging guests to save water resources by reusing towels during their stay;
  • • Elaborate menus and attention to dietary restrictions that feature options for people with special dietary needs: vegetarian, vegan, lactose or gluten intolerant, among others;
  • • Promotion of the local economy;
  • • Promotion of low impact mobility with the use of bicycles for all guests, which can be used in the surrounding areas;
  • • Requalification of the hotel unit, allowing a reduction in the impact in construction terms, and with the choice of solutions that boost energy efficiency and reduce the ecological footprint;
  • • Automatic power control system in the rooms, through key-card;
  • • Automated internal and external lighting system, regulated according to the availability of natural light;
  • • Use of low energy lighting (LED);
  • • Use of solar panels
